Shown is a piece given only to staff members during the 1997/1998 Autumn Winter 20471120 runway show. Lica and Masahiro’s concept for the collection was the idea of what it would look like if humans lived amongst reptiles. The runway featured reptile head pieces, 3D garments that resemble the anatomy of lizards, and lizard design boots. The character on this piece is named Hyoma, the mascot of the brand, which is a cute anime character with juxtaposing face tattoos reading “violence” and “sex” and was used for storytelling through many artistic avenues. The mechanic suit body of Hyoma is inspired by the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. “Hyoma was born from the graffiti that I was writing as a student around (1986-1987). I wrote on Hyoma’s face the energy of the moment the world changes. Because I am shy, I decided to write on his face to convey a message without words. It was a brand vision. Since high fashion from Paris Collection was the mainstream in fashion world at the time, I wanted to be telling more from my real subculture.” (interview with Masahiro from @yourfashionarchive). This piece features adjustable hem & hood, embroidery logo, neck zip closure, and zip pouch pocket. It is in excellent condition for age just one small mark on the back and signs of wear on the front logo. Here’s your chance at one of rarest 20471120 pieces!
