Shown is a well constructed piece from the most timeless and wearable collection by Jun Takahashi. This collection is unique because it was built around the minimalistic showcase of the everyday man, when Jun’s work has more avante-garde ideas. The collection was set around the average man doing everyday activities such as running errands, relaxing, and traveling. This collection also is a continuation of SS2010 “Less but Better” stating the issue with mainstream fashion which is explained on the neck tag that has faded but is summarized in its entirety below.
- Mainstream fashion is only focused on celebrities, fashion insiders, money and marketing which detaches the regular customer from the art that goes into fashion design. Also that cheap mass produced fashion determines fashion trends but there is no passion or worldly purpose for soulless trends and money is the driving factor of what makes new fashion popular. Jun questions then what is fashion ultimately really about? At Undercover they strive to create each piece solely based on love, passion and enriching people’s daily lives and this philosophy is highlighted in this and the previous collection.
This color-way is worn by Jun in the look book photos. It features real down filling, deerskin leather zipper pull tabs, removable hood, hidden chest zip pockets, and logo patches. The asymmetric seam detail crossing the front and back was consistent with other outerwear pieces in the collection. In good condition, just general light wear. A high quality down puffer that has attention to detail and a great purpose behind it.
